We would work with the Client’s specification if available, but for a typical 50ha solar farm would drill 25 3m deep boreholes with a windowless sampler rig and conduct 200 cone penetrometer tests to 3m. Such testing would identify the soils within the expected depth of the module supports across the development area. The soil properties would be determined by laboratory testing of the recovered soil samples. A typical investigation would also include field CBR testing, electrical and thermal resistivity testing, groundwater monitoring and an assessment of soil corrosive properties. Environmental and UXO desk studies and a utilities search could be added as required.
